JENNIFER MUGANZA

Jennifer Muganza Yumba, also known in the U.S. as Jennifer Y. Muganza, was born in Lubumbashi, the second-largest city in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the second-largest country in Africa. She graduated from Balou Secondary School with a degree in Math and Physics at the age of 17. After spending a year studying English, she embarked on a journey to the United States. At 19, Jennifer began her academic path at Riverside City College, where she earned an Associate of Science degree in Math and Sciences.

While attending Riverside City College, Jennifer held several leadership positions, including Student Senator, President of the International Club, Communication Tutor, and International Student Center Assistant. After graduating from RCC, she transferred to California Baptist University (CBU) in 2019, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with a concentration in Construction Management and later, in 2024, a Master of Architecture degree.

At CBU, Jennifer continued to lead as the AIAS President for the 2021-2022 academic year and served as a Student Senator. She also became the President of the Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society for the 2023-2024 academic year. Despite her many responsibilities, Jennifer found time to intern at Ruhnau Clarke Architects for a year and work as a Graduate Assistant for first-year architecture students at CBU.

Outside of her academic achievements, Jennifer enjoys playing the piano, writing songs, sewing, knitting, and learning new languages and cultures. She is passionate about art, from fashion design to building design. Beyond her skills as a designer, Jennifer Muganza aspires to inspire others through her work and life experiences while continuing to learn and grow both academically and personally
